Trout Unlimited

Trout Unlimited: Conserving, protecting, and restoring North America's coldwater fisheries and watersheds

Since 1959, Trout Unlimited has worked to conserve, protect and restore North America’s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.  They have protected more than 10,000 river miles nationwide and pioneered new scientific, legal and legislative tools to make America’s rivers cleaner and healthier.

Every $35 membership contribution to TU produces $170 worth of conservation on the ground, through a combination of:

  •  Grassroots action. TU volunteers work out of more than 400 chapters nationwide and donate well over 500,000 hours annually to clean up local streams and rivers.
  • Professional leadership. TU’s staff includes more than 120 experts in the fields of science, policy, law and local organizing. They work out of 30 offices nationwide.
  • Partnership support. TU works collaboratively with foundations, corporations, landowners and state and federal agencies to find conservation solutions that consider the needs of fish and people.
