Fishing and River Description The Elk River below Tim's Ford Dam is also managed as a put-and-take fishery, however unlike the Duck River. The Elk does have some hold over Brown Trout. It can unfortunately receive a good amount of pressure on the weekends, by both anglers from the Nashville area and from Alabama.
Getting There From Nashville, go east on Interstate 24 towards Chattanooga, take exit 127 on to TN 50 towards Winchester, then turn right to Mingo Road, Right on Garrett, left to Lynchburg, and finally right to Tim's Ford Dam.
