Fishing and River Description
The Clinch is one of the most well known tailwater streams in Tennessee.
During it's hay day of Sulphur hatches it was routinely referred to as the
"Cinch".  In recent years the Sulphur hatches have not been what they
used to be, however you can still catch them in the spring and for the
angler that is observant and understands what is going on they can still
clean up.

The Clinch is composed of a lot of shelf rock which can make for some
technical nymph fishing.  Also with the large flats that can hold rising
cruisers longer leaders and small flies can be the name of the game.
The Clinch is a favorite of Knoxville locals and because of it's limited
access can become somewhat crowded in late afternoons and on
weekends.  Despite the heavy pressure the Clinch still fishes good and
always has the possibility of blowing your socks off.

Please practice safe wading practices and be sure to check the
generation schedules before you go.
